Dramatic Look!

Here is another shot from Monday’s shoot!

I used MAC Strobe cream as primer and MAC’s Studio Fix Fluid (NW 35 and NC30).

I used a matt (quite pink) blush and a peach blush on the cheeks, both are from Inglot, but I’m not sure of the name or number, they are faded, sorry! To finish of the skin I dusted it with loose translucent powder from MAC and a hint of a bronzer. 

For the eyes I used MAC’s Paint Pot in Blackground and the Naked Pallet (one).

The lips are OCC Metallic in Black Metallic Dahlia!

Project N°2

Mirror, Mirror on the Wall - A transformation with a little bit of red

Spiegel, Spiegel an der Wand - Eine Transformation mit ein wenig Rot

I believe the mirror was painted in old white before with a dark wax finish. But we wanted a little bit more colour, so we painted it burgundy red with Annie Sloan Chalk paint. After the red was dry we dry brushed it with a lighter red (burgundy and old white) and only on the areas we wanted to highlight like the carvings. 

Ich glaube das der Spiegel vorher schon mal in old white gestrichen wurde und dann mit einem dark wax versiegelt wurde. Wir haben in dann also in burgundy gestrichen mit Chalk Paint von Annie Sloan und wo die Farbe dann trocken war eine Technik angewendet die sich "Dry Brushing" nennt. Damit kann man Gravuren hervorheben und leichte Akzente setzen.

Dublin and Creativity

Well my Annie Sloan rant isn’t over! I am still in love with it and you will hear so much more about it! Today though I had the pleasure to meet this incredible and creative woman in person. Magaret from Twenty Six in Nenagh invited me up to Dublin to attend a talk by Annie in co-operation with the Irish Times.

We went to some amazing shops around Dublin all who carry Chalk Paint and I met some very creative and talented people that are very inspiring! Can’t wait to show you some more pictures that I took and introduce you to some amazing places!

A day in Dublin

Today I had the pleasure to spend the day in Dublin City and attend a talk with Annie Sloan!

Project N°1

My Project number one is a Cottage in a field (or hills, however you want to see it) painted on canvas with Chalk Paint!

Mein erstes Projekt mit Chalk Paint was ich euch vorstellen möchte ist mein kleine Hütte in Feldern (oder Hügeln, wie man es auch gern hätte)

I didn’t prime the canvas (most of them are already primed) and used the Chalk Paint like I would use acrylic paint.
It was fun to paint this way, since Chalk Paint does not really work like Acrylic Paint, but I love the result. And to get a little more creative I crackled the whole painting and but some dark wax over it! I have to say I love the result and maybe I paint some more pictures this way!

Ich habe eine ganz normale Leinwand benutzt und die Chalk Paint so verwendet, wie ich normalerweise Acryl Farben benutzen würde.
Es hat echt Spaß gemacht, auch weil die Chalk Paints nicht so arbeiten wie Acyl Farben. Und um noch ein wenig mehr kreative  zu sein habe ich das ganze Bild auch noch mit dem Craqueleur behandelt und dann mit Dark Wax versiegelt! TaDa! Ich liebe das Ergebnis!

Obsession with Paint

My obsession with Chalk Paint by Annie Sloan has grown even more in the last view month! I love the ways you can work the paint and that you can use it on nearly everything you want to. I have so many projects going on. I can’t wait to show you guys!

Im Moment bin ich so mit Annie Sloan's Chalk Paint besessen, was ich schon am Anfang war, aber was sich noch um einiges verstärkt hat. Ich liebe es wie man mit den Farben arbeiten kann und wie man sie auf fast alles auftragen kann. Ich habe so viele Projekte am laufen, ich kann es kaum abwarten sie euch alle zu zeigen!

Stroeketown Park House in der Grafschaft Roscommon

Strokestown Park House was build 1701-1782 by Thomas Mahon on land that was granted to his grandfather Nicholas in later half of the 17th century. 

Strokestown Park House wurde 1701-1782 von Thomas Mahon gebaut auf Land was seinem Großvater gegeben wurde in der zweiten Hälfte des 17. Jahrhunderts.

The house and what was left of the estate was bought by a local business man in 1979 from the last owner Mrs Olive Hales-Pakenham-Mahon. The original plan was to sell the house and whatever land they could not use, but after spending some time in the house they realised that it would be to much of a great loss to the Irish heritage and so restoration work begun and in 1987 the house with all its original furnishing was opened to the public.

Das Haus und was übrig war von dem Landgut wurde 1979 von einem lokalen Unternehmer von der letzten Besitzerin des Hauses (Mrs Olive Hales-Pakenham-Mahon) gekauft. Sein plan war das Haus und Land welches er nicht benutzen konnte weiter zu verkaufen, aber nachdem er einige Zeit in dem Haus verbracht hatte, wurde ihm klar das es einen hohen Wert für den irischen Kulturerbe hat. Nach einigen Restaurationen wurde das Haus in 1987 für die Öffentlichkeit geöffnet. Zu sehen sind einige der Zimmer im Haus mit den originalen Möbeln und Wandbekleidungen.

Strokestown Park House is open to the public all year around. You can view the house with a guided tour, the gardens with original green house, a forest walk with art exhibition and a very informative Famine Museum. For more information visit their site here. The team is very helpful and if you plan a day trip you can have lunch in their lovely tea rooms! 

Strokestown Park House ist das ganze Jahr geöffnet. Teil des Museums ist das Haus, welches man mit einer Tour besichtigen kann. Außerdem kann man die Gärten und einen Waldweg mit Kunstausstellung besichtigen. Und in 2013 wurde ein Museum über die irische Hungersnot im 19. Halloween Doll Makeup

I’m doing a course in special effects makeup at the moment and what better way to learn about these things then using a Halloween theme! With Halloween so close to us our imagination goes wild and we created this creepy doll makeup in class! Can’t wait to try out some more looks inspired by this!

Ich mache gerade einen Kurs in Special Effects Makeup und welches bessere Thema kann man nehmen als Halloween um über dieses tolle Makeup zu lernen?! In unseren letzten Klasse haben wir eine gruselige Puppe kreiert was echt Spaß gemacht hat und ich muss sagen, dass ich es kaum abwarten kann ein wenig mehr kreative zu diesem Thema zu werden!

Birthday Celebrations

Well here goes another year! I can’t believe that it was my birthday already! It seems like the older you get the faster a year will pass! I had a fantastic day with all my loved once (over skype or in person)! 

Und dann ist da schon wieder ein Jahr vorbei! Ich kann es kaum glauben, dass es schon wieder mein Geburtstag war. Um so älter man wird, umso schneller vergeht die Zeit. Ich hatte einen tollen Tag mit all meinen lieben (über skype oder hier)!

And since it was my birthday I decided what we did for the day. So we went off to Strokestown in County Roscommon. Strokestown house is a big manor house with beautiful gardens, woods and a famine museum. It was very interesting and I had so much fun all day!

Und da es mein Geburtstag war konnte ich auch entscheiden was wir machen. Also sind wir nach Strokestown in die Grafschaft Roscommon gefahren. Strokestown ist ein großer Gutshof mit wunderschönen Gärten, Wäldern und einem Museum über die irische Hungersnot im 19. Jahrhundert. Es war ein sehr Informationsreicher Tag und ich hatte so viel Spaß!

Smoky Eye

A smoky eye is THE fashion staple you want and especially for winter coming around you can rock this look in so many ways and colours. But so may are put of by it because they think it will be to complicated to archive. But it really isn’t. Here is a look I created on my model Kayla for a photoshoot.

A simple look created with only 4 products for the eyes.

You need max of four products.
Now these once are all by MAC except the mascara, but you can use any brand you like.
These where the once I used on my model Kayla for the day.

MAC pro longwear paint pot, MAC kohl pencil, MAC pigment and black mascara!

You use MAC paint pot on the lid and apply it all the way to the crease. Then you quickly start blending the colour out with you favourite blending brush upwards and outwards. (be quick with the paint pots, when they are dry they won’t move) For a stronger or more intense colour you can add black eye shadow or pigment, but you can skip this step. Use a black eye liner (kohl or whatever is your favourite one) and line your water line. Don’t forget to blend a little colour around your lower lash line and then add lots of mascara for a dramatic look! 

Easy really! 

Do the rest of your makeup after you have done your smoky eye. It is easier to clean up any fall out and you won’t ruin your foundation.
